Old Jerusalem Cafe
Tweet1340 Irving St, San Francisco, CA 94122, USA
Description...
fine place. we had wanted to get there around 18:30, eat (reviewers on yelp have millions of suggestions for food and drinks) and then share a hookah at 19:00 or so. instead, we ended up getting there at 19:00 and were told that it was re-opening at 20:00, as they were under-staffed at the moment. it was a wednesday so i wasn't put out with this; i was relieved that it would still be opening. killed some time and ate, came back, shared a hookah.
Why I enjoyed this activity...
well i would come back because: 1) the layout is comfortable and authentic 2) the hookah manager told me that he adds ambrosia flavor to the most popular flavor--the house mix #2, lemon mint guava 3) seems like a nice place to have a coffee, eat divine food and work changes i'd make: 1) go on a thursday, friday or saturday 2) not order white peach hookah; it was fine but nothing more 3) maybe call ahead to find out their hours for the day
Directions...
maps.google.com--use the public transportation option. we met at the powell street BART and took the metro-muni (which is in the station) to 19th and judah street.
